2017-04-28 FRIDAY SMALL COFFEE TOO SMALL AT BURGER KING

McDonald's will give customers more coffee. This Burger King store gave me more coffee before. A small cup of hot coffee and milk might be 4 OZ or maybe 6 or 8 OZ.

Burger King should give me more coffee and they did before but do not now. Plus, they say the power is not working here either but it was working yesterday.
.
There are standard cup / drink / meal / food sizes and you can see it at different restaurants and coffee shops and stores and many different places and different kinds of places and franchises like Burger King and Wendy's and McDonald's and Lotteria and more and they tend to be comparable or the same universally acorss the board or across the different places internationally.
.
They said to me that the staff was not trained and gave me too much coffee before, like maybe 8 OZ, and they said it is supposed to be just one drip or one serving on their  Nescafe machine and I believe they are wrong and that they should press the button twice to get more coffee into my cup like they did before and like others do too.
.
I did not get a free ice cream cone for filling this same Burger King survey out online and I did purchase twice and the requirement was a purchase and I had 2 purchases and extensions and exceptions should be allowed to let eligibility apply to me as well because I have ordered here at BK many times and my name is Joey Arnold and I ordered coffee twice today and I got about 4 OZ and not 6 or 8 OZ for a small cup of hot black coffee with milk and it is almost May 2017 now in Saigon Vietnam near New World and Star Bucks in District 1, Quan 1, HCM, SG, and other stores do better than BK like McDonald's and BK gave us all more coffee before and power too for my laptop and phone but they sealed the power away today and that was different than before and the services and products are declining when compared to other store in Vietnam and abroad and things were better and can be better and I expect more excellence and professionalism and business perspective in helping the customers and more and I encourage that for us all.

This is my 2nd survey for Burger King, BK VN, and still no free ice cream which is given upon purchase and there were at least 2 purchases or actually 3 today.....

Your website said coffee is 19.000 VND but the Burger King store here said 25.000 VND. And the staff served a full cup of hot coffee to me many times this month but today a cashier man only gave me half a cup and I complained to him and he said they do not serve full cups of hot coffee but they did before many times.

They also said they do not have power for my laptop but they do have power for their TVs and monitors and the lights and the soda machine and everything except the power outlets which worked for months until today.

While waiting in line for rice at McDonald's Nguyen Hue, a VN man met me, we conversed, but then he stopped talking like mid-sentence, abruptly, prematurely, when my number & order & food was called. I walked back to him & he said good luck & did not even try, it seems, to finish his sentence or ideas. That makes me sad and angry because it tells me that he is not really committed and does not really care about what we are talking about it seems.

The program, REVOLUTION HAWAII is a SALVATION ARMY year-long missionary training course in HAWAII.

In it, we learn to live on $5 a day and I might be the only one NOW VOLUNTEERING to go back to such a low income

We camped out homeless for a week on the beach with other homeless people. We ministered and fed and befriended children and folks of all ages and colors and sizes and religions and cultures in HAWAII

In my life, I've had opportunities to learn, to help, to enjoy, to travel, with WORD OF LIFE FELLOWSHIP and BIBLE INSTITUTE (WOLBI) in New York, and ABC, and SALVATION ARMY, and at camps in different states for 5 years and a Children Ministry Team or CMT and God gives us people and situations to help us grow and things do work out slowly but surely (ROMANS 8:28) AND WE CAN SEE IT MORE AND MORE AS WE PRESS ONWARDS TO THE MARK AND TO THE ETERNAL THINGS

I am writing this email because this is on my mind.

A man treated a customer unfairly at Tous Les Jours. I'm here to report this incident. The man appeared to be employed with Tous Les Jours. This man was Vietnamese and he said something that was not fair and it was very rude and very improper and out of the blue. He made premature assumptions implications, judgments, based on insufficient information, data, bias, conception, paradigms, perspectives, ideology. Customer service feedback should be taken seriously. This is feedback. This should be taken seriously. Part of the problem is in the possible favoritism that was isolated from a customer who DID NOT warrant such separation. I'm requesting for more clarity upon the rules of this place. Failure to comply may result in farther consequences down the road. This is a warning and a notice in advance of such actions if need be in the future for the sake of progress for humanity, for buyers and sellers alike.

Yes, I do have experience in teaching since the year 2003. I was born in the year 1985 in the United States of America (USA). I'm American. I write like this because I want to be as clear as possible. It's obvious but I'm always running into people who are confused about the details of my life.

At New Star in Bac Ninh, Vietnam, they had too many teachers. They didn't want a third teacher. They fired me via email Tuesday morning, 2012, December 4th. Andy went there & talked to them & then told me to forget about New Star. Later, I wrote about New Star online after I was fired. It SEEMS THAT TYLER WROTE THAT I TALKED CRAP ABOUT NEW STAR BEFORE I WAS FIRED. I DID IT AFTER. I may have wrote a few things before I was fired as well as a negotiation or confrontation tactic. I believe in telling people when there are problems. Transparency. Honesty. Integrity. Patience. Courage, Character. Virtue.

The first day I came to Vietnam, on a Thursday, 2012, November 29th. That school (NEW STAR) did not meet me at the airport in Hanoi. I took a taxi. A manager or staff at NEW STAR said he went to meet me at the airport and did not see me. I told him my airplane was landing at 12 PM noon. He thought I MEANT that I would be coming out of the airport at that time & he said or wrote that he left after a few minutes. I may have wrote about that online.

That first Thursday night in Vietnam, the hotel was trying to get me to pay. New Star ended up paying for the rent but I may have talked about that on the internet too.

Monday, I had a job interview with them where they observed me teaching a class. The twist was that he was the only student in the classroom and he was also the observer or interviewer as well. Instead of pretending to teach a real class, I tried to tutor him. He later said that I was just a tutor and NOT A REAL TEACHER.

I tried to tell Andy Nguyen about some of this BUT I AM NOT SURE HOW MUCH PEOPLE UNDERSTAND FROM WHAT I SAY OR WRITE. I may have tried to tell Tyler Capp who went on to write this article that paints a different story. As a reader, you can believe in what Tyler wrote, or you can consider what I'm saying.

Tyler is right that I'm not always helping out. I stayed at Andy's restaurant, Papa Foods, in Bac Ninh, in December 2012 and also for 2 more weeks in January 2013.

Tyler is right that I was not always mopping, washing, sweeping, cleaning, and helping around. If you knew me, you would find that to be strange. LIFE IS FOR SERVICE. That is a motto from the second college I attended. I VOLUNTEERED a year of my life to help the HOMELESS in a SALVATION ARMY program called REVOLUTION HAWAII. I was involved in the CHILDREN MINISTRY TEAM (CMT) in NEW YORK. I've volunteered since I was a kid and I've worked at Bible camps for five years. Sometimes, I'm NOT ALWAYS HELPING PEOPLE.

I PAID MY OWN WAY TO VIETNAM. I REALLY HATE THAT PEOPLE LIE ABOUT ME. I HELP PEOPLE AS OFTEN AS I CAN AND I AM ALWAYS TRYING TO HELP IN DIFFERENT WAYS ONLINE AND OFFLINE AND FOR FREE MOST OF THE TIME. People asked me to go to Hanoi. I went there but people did not like me but would not tell me directly. Now, I'm living in Saigon still. It is the year 2016 now. I've been in Vietnam for almost 4 years now.

Andy decided to help and I am not required to compensate for the freedom and liberties that Andy has. Yes, it would be better if I were to show more appreciation and to say thank you more often, but that I'm still not required to do so. But of course, we can always find ways to be more thankful and WE SHOULD WORK HARDER EACH DAY TO SHOW OUR GRATITUDE TOWARDS EVERYBODY AROUND US MORE AND MORE.

I dress up and wear nicer clothes sometimes but I was not dressing so well at the end of 2012 when I first came to VIETNAM and I was gaining weight mostly due to all the ICE CREAM and possibly from some depression as I was reflecting about my life in 2012 as I was contemplating my departure from AMERICA.

I do plan to write more articles, books, and to make more documentaries, videos, and other things in regards to the scandals and stories concerning my life. I write and talk to help people and will continue to do so even as people continue to lie about me just like the MEDIA LIES ABOUT ALEX JONES AND ROGER STONES AND DONALD TRUMP AND OTHER PATRIOTS OF TRUTH.

Joey Arnold: The Guy Who Didn't

Here I will attempt to tell you the true story of Joey Arnold. This isn't fiction but it might have some holes. I was honored to be there at the onset of Joey's adventure and have checked in on his status via internet from time to time.

I was living in Bac Ninh, Vietnam in 2012. I was working at a small start up English language center and I was the only foreigner in the entire city. I had made friends with Andy, a native Vietnamese guy who had become an American citizen but was living in Vietnam at the time. He was a good guy who I think looks like a strong, Asian Keanu Reeves. The first floor of Andy's house was a restaurant which served the best Western food in the city. His English was also great and his calm demeanor made it one of my favorite places to hang out other than the pool hall. One day there was a bit of an excited buzz around the city. Andy, my students and possibly a few others were asking me if I had met the other American yet. Joey didn't know it but I knew of his arrival to Bac Ninh long before I met him.

Soon enough, I met him at Andy's place. I don't remember too much about that first impression except that he wasn't the BFF I had been hoping for. Joey had thin, messy hair and a perpetual five o'clock shadow that clung to his droopy face in the most unappealing way. I wouldn't say that Joey is ugly but he's a perfect example of what happens when you make a funny face for too long and it gets stuck that way. When I first met him he was a bit overweight too and wore baggy, wrinkled clothes that were studded with a gamut of different colored stains. It was also immediately obvious that he conserved water because he only showered or brushed his teeth once in a blue moon.

Joey came from Oregon. He had been chatting with a Filipina who taught English at another English center in Bac Ninh. She mentioned that he would be able to easily get a job and so he took the plunge and moved to Vietnam. I believe it was his first time out of the country and his parents paid for a one way ticket for him. Otherwise, he only had a couple hundred dollars to his name. He did get the job but he lacked teaching experience. He dressed so slovenly and gave the excuse that he didn't want the locals to feel that he thinks he's better than them by dressing up. I tried to impress upon him that a teacher in Vietnam is highly regarded and English isn't just a cute pastime for them; it was a chance to break free and get a much better career or even a promotion or pay increase. It was the difference between mediocrity or riches. I told him that he needed to emulate that and respect the position that he was in. All this, along with all the other advice I ever gave him, just fell on deaf ears.

Shortly after starting to work at his new school, Joey was fired. Andy requested that I go with him to confront the school, which I did reluctantly. They told me that not only were the kids uncomfortable with him but he was also saying some pretty nasty things about the school and the management on the internet. His complaints were very easily viewed and his boss quickly found them and then fired him. The school had put him up in a hotel and gave him a day or two to move out. Remember, he only had a tiny amount of money and no way of getting back home. Andy, being the kind-hearted guy that he was, took Joey under his wing and gave him a place to stay as well as hot meals. If it wasn't for Andy, Joey would have been a homeless American living on the streets of Vietnam.

Joey leeched off of Andy for a long time, sleeping free and eating the food. He didn't bother to lift a finger to help Andy with anything, nor did he try to find another job. He never even did the most basic thing a guy in his position should have done which is to say, “Thank you.” He spent his time on the internet, blogging and uploading videos. This is how I've been able to sort of check in with him over the years even though I've since moved out of Vietnam while Joey is still stuck there. Granted, Joey claims that he loves in there and doesn't ever want to go back to the United States but the grim reality is that he probably couldn't get back home even if he wanted to.

I spent some time with Joey but he's a bit crazy. I know that it sounds like I'm just complaining and speaking angrily about him but believe me when I say that these words are as impartial and straight forward as I could be about Joey. I pleaded with him to dress nicer, take a shower, brush his teeth and get a TEFL certificate. I gave him all the TEFL materials he needed to learn the basics of being an English teacher. I even set up a job for him and drove him to the school but he wouldn't enter the building. One thing that Joey does expertly is argue but he doesn't argue like a skilled lawyer, he argues like a lunatic that you could meet on a Los Angeles bus. Anything you say, he'll have to disagree with you and then his arguments easily get off topic or circular until you don't even know what you're arguing about but you feel frustrated. All over the internet, I always find tiny remains of these arguments or people he has pissed off, even though he usually deletes bad things about himself after a short time.

At one point, he started to write terrible things about the Vietnamese government very plainly online. That was a scary thought, because even though Vietnam isn't quite like Big Brother, they do monitor what goes on online and people have had trouble with the authorities for things they posted online. At that point, I decided to distance myself from him. I just wasn't going to go down with that sinking ship. It was only a matter of time before he pissed off some guy in the street or some police officer or something and I didn't want people to think I was on his side. I tried in vain to explain that the Vietnamese people were very friendly and they would quietly take a lot of crap from people but once they reached their limit, they would snap in the most ugly way. I tried to paint the picture of the bombing that happened just a few days before, just down the street from us. There was a guy who owed another guy some money. He came to collect and instead of paying up, it got heated and he came at the guy with a knife. No blood was spilled that day but later at night, the guy who had been attacked with the knife sought his revenge and made a home-made bomb. He put it on his motorcycle and was en route to delivering it when it went off prematurely. I saw the scene the next day and the guy's body parts were thrown in different directions and all that was left was the half charred remains of a motorcycle. When I heard about it, I was at the gym with Andy and a few of the local guys were talking. One of them was very upset. I thought he was upset about the violence in his neighborhood but he was upset because he couldn't fathom why the bomb would have gone of prematurely. I used this story to try to impress upon Joey they sort of wrath he could be dealing with but it just didn't sink in.

My biggest victory with Joey was that I eventually got him to pitch in and help a little bit at the restaurant while he was there. One day he left for Ha Noi in search of work. He started a number of jobs but never kept them long enough to collect a month's paycheck. At one point, he volunteered at a museum and even got fired from that. I'm not sure how you get fired from an unpaid position so fast, but Joey managed.

Eventually he moved down to Ho Chi Minh City where I think he was chasing another girl. From what I gathered, he has a pattern of getting some lovely Vietnamese person to take him into their house and after he's exhausted and leeched out their remaining hospitality, he gets kicked out. For a while he was meeting with Vietnamese people at a coffee shop so they could practice their English with a native speaker. This is a highly sought after commodity in Vietnam. He would only ask for some tea in exchange. I believe he lived off of tea for months at a time and he soon lost more weight than any of the diets out there can ever offer. He shaved his head and started to dress extremely nicer (compared to his garb before).

He does get some teaching jobs from time to time but I doubt that he keeps the job for too long. He posts hundreds of videos online as well as his blogs and multiple different accounts on Facebook for teaching English. There are hints of his misadventures that crop up from time to time that you can find online such as getting arrested by Vietnamese police, or Facebook or Couchsurfing.com blocking him from their websites, various drama from people he has encountered who had clearly attempted to take an argument with Joey to some sort of resolution but went crazy along the way.

I have included a video here of one of Joey's English instructional videos. He is a terrible impressionist but in his mind, he is probably thinking that he is on par with a university lecturer. Please excuse the terribly racist remarks he makes. He doesn't actually mean any harm by it, he just doesn't know any better because he's stuck in his own world. However, if you are actually able to finish the whole thing, then I applaud you because it's very difficult to watch. Just stick in there though and you'll hear some true gems of comedy.

I also am predicting that Joey will have some sort of Google alert on his name and will probably find this article in due time. If so, you'll have the treat of seeing his comments and, perhaps, I might just engage for the sake of entertainment.

As for the future of Joey Arnold, no one can say with certainty what exactly has happened but his life in Vietnam has unfolded like a twisted reality show and I hope you were entertained to learn about Joey Arnold: The Guy Who Didn't.
